Up In Smoke - A Summer Shellfish Celebration of Smoke and Sea
Summer Solstice is approaching. That means bonfires, barbeques, beaches, and… bivalves.
We’ll be playing with over 10 techniques, accoutrements, beverages, and ingredients on our favorite oysters, to create smouldering sea-washed flavors, making perfect pairings that highlight – but never wash out – the beautiful, delicate flavors you find in an oyster's cup.
Our events are playful, deeply educational, and hands-on, and we chase whatever threads you want to pull. Per usual, we’ll wade through all of your burning questions about oyster flavors, farming, shell recycling, sourcing, and shucking. And if you want to learn to shuck, well, we'll do that too (always, always).
(Note - this is not a coffee event, but we'll have our coffee on site!)Details
Tuesday June 16th
7:00 pm
at Agricola
1180 S 10th St, Phila, PA 19147
Notes
This is more of a class than a sit-down dinner, but you’ll be quite fed. At least a dozen oysters (usually more), with a pile of snacks and beverages. We suggest buffering with some light food beforehand, though people tend to leave satisfied.
Accessibility Note - 1 small stair into the restaurant. It’s a small space but there is clearance and we will do our best to make room. Tables are mostly high tops, but we do have one low table – let us know if you need it reserved.
Let us know if you have any allergies when you buy your ticket, and we’ll do our best to accommodate. Shellfish allergies cannot be accommodated.
Cancellations, Refunds, Transfers, and No-Show policy
This is a ticketed single-night event, where seating is very limited. This is not a reservation. There’s no rescheduling. We can do refunds up to 8 days before the event. After that, we’re unable to offer refunds, regardless of the reason – this is because we have to place & pay for product orders far in advance. If you’re unable to make it, you’re totally welcome to transfer or sell your ticket to someone else – let us know if you need help facilitating that.
